Wood Foundation Supports Boys and Girls Clubs

st. john's college signAnnapolis, Md. - Reginald Broddie of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County recently accepted a check for $100,000 from the Kathy and Jerry Wood Foundation. The check represents a grant from the Foundation to support the work of the Clubs.

“We are very excited about the Wood Foundation becoming a part of one of our most important and successful core program areas,” stated Mr. Broddie, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs. “ This generous gift will allow four of our members to receive college scholarships to support them throughout their college experience. It will also enable four members, over four years, to travel overseas to have a summer learning experience that no youth can gain from books and classrooms.”

“ We thank the Foundation very much for their confidence in the Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County in providing a bright future for our community youth,” Mr. Broddie concluded.

As she made the presentation, Foundation trustee Sallie Hamrick commented, “The Kathy and Jerry Wood Foundation was established to promote the development of promising young people. We believe the work of the Boys and Girls Clubs does exactly that and we are proud to be able to support their efforts.”
