The Kathy & Jerry Wood foundation is always searching for new, fun and creative ways to help children learn and grow in the classroom setting. One such fundamental organization the foundation found was Little Kids Rock. Little Kids Rock partners with public school districts in underserved communities to bring access to music education and its many benefits. The foundation made a generous donation to not only assist in the organizations’ ability to donate a number of instruments to classrooms, but also help the organization in providing lasting music programs that look to teach kids how to perform, improvise, and compose music.
The foundation made generous donations supporting Little Kids Rock – Tampa, serving more than 35,000 kids in more than 140 classrooms. Additionally, they contributed to a brand-new initiative to begin a statewide Little Kids Rock music program in Colorado, which just launched 19 new Modern Band Programs, donated 200+ instruments, and will serve an additional 3,000 students.
Little Kids Rock transforms lives by restoring, expanding, and innovating music education in local schools. Since its inception in 2002, Little Kids Rock has given more than 650,000 under-served schoolchildren across the United States access to fun and engaging music classes and brand-new instruments at no cost.
